How does it work?


When buyers post image requests,  mobile photographers respond to their requests by submitting their best photos. Once buyers receive these images, they will choose unique images that match their vision or product.  The winning photographers will get paid as well as receive an excellent rating for their creative imagery.

How do I start?


It’s really simple to join and to pick a challenge.

  • First, you will need to sign up with Snapwire via Facebook or via your email.

  • Choose a Challenge and submit photos with excellent quality using Snapwire mobile app or their website.

  • Once you have chosen a Challenge,  buyers will nominate their favorite photos  before purchasing any photos. If your photo is purchased, you  will get paid!

Challenges are posted daily by Snapwire and this website pay their photographers daily.  If your photo is purchased or even nominated, you will receive a level up   to Shooter status. You must build a strong portfolio in order to get early approvals and get a higher status.  You can learn more about level ups and payments on their website.

How do I get Paid?


Once a job is completed, money that you have earn is put into your WePay account or PayPal account. You will receive instant pay with WePay.  It might take some time to receive payment with PayPal.  Pay rates vary. It depends on the requests.

Will I Be Considered An Independent Contractor With Snapwire?


Yes, you will be considered an independent contractor as you will send a 1099 Income Tax Form at the end of each year.

What is a Metadata Editor?


The Metadata Editor requires a self-motivated and experienced person who is a professional,  creative, detail-oriented, and disciplined. The candidate must be able to add descriptive keywords and captions to images and to process large collections of digital media files.

What are my responsibilities?


Your responsibilities include performing content integration and metadata processes to meet content requirements.  You will also need to make sure you are able to meet production goals and meet time-sensitive content management objectives.

  • Candidates need to be able to describe creative media as well as associate metadata standards.

  • Describe creative media and associated metadata standards.

  • Responsible for Adding or editing accurate English descriptive keywords, captions and categories or images and videos.

  • Evaluate media metadata for adherence to content standards and service suitability.

  • Be able to use bulk editing techniques to efficiently make multiple keyword changes.

  • Assist with the selection of media from large catalogs for inclusion in Shutterstock content collections.

  • Perform creative media production tasks including video and image editing as necessary.

  • Provide general content operations support; achieve and maintain expertise in multiple workflow areas and systems.


 

What skills do I need to become a Metadata Editor?

  • You must be able to work alongside a team and be able to think sharply as you will get your hands dirty.

  • Have a passion for Photography with 2+ years of professional Photography or creative experience.

  • Domain expertise

  • Understand of evolving image industry trends, styles, and why images have commercial value.

  • Comfortable about making detailed judgments constantly.

  • Strong knowledge and expertise in metadata standards, information organization, cataloguing rules, and digital library archiving.

  • Experience with creative content operations, content management systems & applications.

  • Excellent communicator, decisive, results-driven, people-oriented person with the ability to resolve time-critical issues.

  • Fluent in English is a plus!

  • Understand Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Google Docs and file sharing protocols.

  • Familiarity with trademark and copyright law is a plus!

What is an Image Reviewer?


An Image Reviewer is a a freelance work-from-home position where a reviewer will be using his or her own equipment.  This position is based around the reviewers available schedule. So, it’s flexible.

Your Responsibilities As a Image Reviewer:



  • You need to approved images based on certain acceptance standards and be able to evaluate with great scrutiny.

  • Be proficient with technical standards, trademark exceptions, fraud detection, copyright and release requirements. You also need to review images for adherence to content standards and suitability for inclusion in our commercial image catalog.

  • Perform exceptional in a high volume, fast-paced environment while having consistent image evaluations with super detail.

  • Apply metadata standards, with light metadata editing and have a keen eye for keyword and title relevance to drive accurate search engine results.

  • You have to give accurate and concise feedback to contributors.


Requirements for the Position:



  • It is mandatory that you have active photography experience  for 2+ years, preferably as a photographer, contributor to stock agencies, photo editor, or photo researcher.

  • You must be able to work 25-30 hours per week including 5 to 8 hours per weekend.

  • high-speed wired broadband Internet access with at least 25mbps download speed.  If you need to test your computer, Click here! Own a PC or Mac, have a sufficient color display in order to view high-resolution images.

  • Be Proficient at photo editing, image resolution, and metadata evaluation, in addition to a some foundation, with the best skill, in post-production processes.

  • Need knowledge of evolving image industry trends, styles, and commercial value.

  • Comfortable and elated about making many detailed judgments repetitively.

  • It is critical that you are well-organized, super analytical and very detail-oriented.

  • Excellent English skills is a must; as you will have to participate in operations and business meetings.
