mytime logo

MyTime - Remote Concierge Work Opportunity

MyTime was founded by technology entrepreneur Ethan Anderson and in February of 2013, MyTime launched its website pilot in Los Angeles.  Consumers loved the convenience of booking appointments online, day or night. They also saved significant amounts of money by booking off-peak appointments, which MyTime discounts to help businesses fill their open time slots.
The MyTime iPhone app later launched on October 3, 2013 and will be launching the android version soon.  With this launch, MyTime will be the first app to allow consumers to book appointments on-the-go with over 2 million businesses.
What is MyTime?

MyTime is a company that is “reinventing local ecommerce.” They have built an online service where consumers can book appointments as well as purchase local services such as haircuts, house cleanings, massages, and other services from nearby local businesses. MyTime has integrated into the leading calendar applications on the market, giving them real-time visibility into each merchant’s schedule. When customers book appointments on MyTime, they will write back to the merchant’s calendar. This allows them to be a true one-stop destination to purchase services from millions of businesses across the country.
What are people saying about MyTime?

According to MyTime website, MyTime is venture backed by UpFront Ventures (Mark Suster), 500 Startups and other prominent angels. It recently won Top Mobile app at the Launch Mobile & Wearables Conference and was featured by Apple as “Best New App.” TechCrunch calls MyTime, “a rare breed of app like Uber, Pocket, and Venmo that makes life so much easier, it’s hard to remember how things worked before.” VentureBeat says MyTime is, “the Uber of local appointment booking” while Forbes refers to them as “the Amazon of local services.” Whatever you call them, they are busy building the world’s first local ecommerce destination, and would love for you to join in our mission.
What is this job like?

MyTime is providing an opportunity for people to make money as a Concierge Contractor from their homes as they provide MyTime the ability to outsource their first point of contact between MyTime and their customers and partner merchants.  Therefore, MyTime is contracting you to be responsible for fielding customer requests for appointment bookings and calling businesses to confirm those appointments. Although, MyTime has brilliant technology in place to make this process easy, they need someone who is comfortable talking to customers on the phone, has great customer service and sales skills, and has the ability to work remotely and accomplish multiple administrative tasks.

Find Great Freelance Work on Elance

elance-freelancers

Many of my fans have demanded more information about freelance work from home.  So, I thought it would be a great idea to talk about Elance - a site where you can sign up and get paid for doing almost any type of freelance work.

How does it work?

It’s easy to sign up.  You don’t need to wait to be approved to work on their site.  You just need to create an account. Once you have signed up for their website, you will see three membership options: the first option is free and the other two require payment.  If you are not familiar with the site, you should probably start off with their free version first to get a feel of the website.  It’s similar to other freelance websites like oDesk and Guru.  It’s great to pay for extra features if you are familiar with freelance work online and if you are going to be on the website constantly. The benefits of paying for extra features include your profile getting placed higher in their search results for prospective employers to find you and getting the option to add your profile to more categories.

What happens after I sign up?

Once you have signed up, you will create your worker portfolio.  It is imperative that you create an awesome profile. You want it to be attractive to prospective employers as well as stand out among the other freelance workers.  Please add a resume which will allow prospective employers to see your past work with other clients, personal information about yourself and areas of expertise.  This will help you get more job requests.

How do I get work?

There are two ways to find freelance work on Elance: the first way is to bid on jobs.  The other way is to wait for employers to contact you.

Types of Work Available

Almost anything!  You will find a lot of work requests for IT, web & mobile work, writing, project management, marketing & sales, translators, design & multimedia and office & admissions.  However, there’s also data science, legal, engineering and arch., customer service and so on.  Right now, there are a lot of requests for the jobs that I just named above.  So, if you are an expertise in those areas, more than likely, you’ll probably get hired by someone who needs work done and is willing to pay for your services.

Cons about Elance

It can be stressful bidding on jobs with so many employers in search for cheaper labor. Although, you might have bid a small amount, there is always someone who is desperate for the job and will bid an even lower amount to get the job.  In addition, many Elance workers are from other countries and what they might consider high amount, we who are in the U.S. would consider the amount to be under minimum wage.   I have never worked with this website. However, I know this can happen because I am a music expert on a website called LivePerson where clients contact me if they are interested in my profile.  There were times where I had to persuade my clients to choose me based on my skills.  Since this can be a problem, it’s imperative that you have a very good portfolio!  You definitely need to create an awesome and powerful profile so people will be tempted to hire you first instead of finding the cheapest way to get their work done.

What type of jobs can I get at Elance?

At Elance, you can get paid by the hour or get paid per project.

How Can I Be Sure I will Get Paid?

Elance guarantees payment through their escrow system, so you can do your work in peace.

If you are interested, apply here!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and give reviews about Elance! I would love to hear about your experience.

Be a Music Reviewer From Home - SlicethePie.com

SliceThePie

You can get paid as a music reviewer. Slice The Pie is a music reviewing website where they pay music fans to review music! Most of your reviews will return directly to unsigned artists to give them honest feedback.  This will help the company find the best artists to put forward for A&R opportunities and Radio placement.

At times, Slice The Pie  offers run fashion trials (on Slice The Pie Catwalk) where you can review clothing instead of music! They will email you when this project is open.

How does reviewing work on Slice The Pie?

Once you've logged in, you'll be taken to the Scout page. All you have to do is click the Play button and start listening to the track.

You can begin reviewing right away in the text box and when 90 seconds of the track have passed, you can rate it.  The rate is between 1 and 10 and you will choose a rating using the slider. Once you are done adding your reviewing, you can click “Submit” and  move on to the next review!

It’s really that simple!

How do I get paid?

Payment per review is based on your ranking. In order to earn more money, you must submit lengthy and well-written reviews in English. The better your review, the bigger your bonus payment. When giving a review, try your best to submit detailed, varied and constructive comments.  This will help artists improve their tracks.

Once you have made a minimum of $10, your earnings can be withdrawn to a PayPal account. PayPal payments take up to 5 working days to process because they will have to read all your reviews before paying you.
