How does it work?

It’s easy to sign up.  You don’t need to wait to be approved to work on their site.  You just need to create an account. Once you have signed up for their website, you will see three membership options: the first option is free and the other two require payment.  If you are not familiar with the site, you should probably start off with their free version first to get a feel of the website.  It’s similar to other freelance websites like oDesk and Guru.  It’s great to pay for extra features if you are familiar with freelance work online and if you are going to be on the website constantly. The benefits of paying for extra features include your profile getting placed higher in their search results for prospective employers to find you and getting the option to add your profile to more categories.

What happens after I sign up?

Once you have signed up, you will create your worker portfolio.  It is imperative that you create an awesome profile. However, I know this can happen because I am a music expert on a website called LivePerson where clients contact me if they are interested in my profile.  There were times where I had to persuade my clients to choose me based on my skills.  Since this can be a problem, it’s imperative that you have a very good portfolio!  You definitely need to create an awesome and powerful profile so people will be tempted to hire you first instead of finding the cheapest way to get their work done.

Publishing takes up to 5 minutes and your book will appear on Kindle stores worldwide within 48 hours.  You could make more money and earn up to 70% royalty on sales to customers in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, India, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Australia and more.  However, you will have to do it yourself. That includes making sure your format is the way you want it and so on.

To make things easier, I recommend iUniverse which is a self-publishing company for book writers.  One of the services iUniverse offers is making books that are available in their thousands of online resellers. This also includes Amazon in paperback and eBook. Therefore, iUniverse will do most of the legwork for you.
Digital Formatting and Distribution (eBook)

How do I get paid?


Payment per review is based on your ranking. In order to earn more money, you must submit lengthy and well-written reviews in English. The better your review, the bigger your bonus payment. When giving a review, try your best to submit detailed, varied and constructive comments.  This will help artists improve their tracks.

Once you have made a minimum of $10, your earnings can be withdrawn to a PayPal account. PayPal payments take up to 5 working days to process because they will have to read all your reviews before paying you.

How many hours per week do coaches typically work?

Coaches usually work a total of 8-15 hours per week based on learner demand. This time could include coaching Studio sessions, working in Rosetta World, and reviewing language-specific Rosetta Stone content.  For English coaches, work include Reflex sessions for Japanese and Korean learners, Advanced English classes, Totale Kid and Adult sessions and so on.

Is training included?

Rosetta Stone’s Studio Coach Interview teams visit each Hub Cities 2 to 3 times per year to hold numerous interview days. This is what you need to know:

- As a candidate, you will submit and complete a voice audition.
- If you have successfully pass voice auditions, you will be asked to do an onsite interview.

Overall thoughts as a current English coach?

Work at a Virtual Call Center with NexRep

What is NexRep?


NexRep is sales-driven, virtual call center similar to West At Home or Cloud10, which allows customer service reps and sales agents to work out of the co

mfort of their own home.  NexRep offers various job positions—both inbound and outbound calling.  Training is also included and executed through live webinars and/or tele-classes where you will be included in an interactive workshop that is conducted over the telephone like a conference call.

There are also new receptionist position at NexRep with inbound calling and appointment setting for a salon during the whole week including Sundays between the hours of 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. EST.

What are NexRep hours like?


Inbound calls are 24/7, and you must work at least 2 hours at a time. NexRep requires there agents to work 15 hours per week. Outbound sales representatives have the same weekly hour requirement.  However, the hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST.

Inbound agents will train for 2 weeks with the first week being unpaid. During the second week, you will get paid your weekly commission as you receive and take live calls in addition to receiving performance feedback. Your first week of training will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST and this will only occur on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The second week of training will be from Monday through Friday.  You will spend four hours each day, taking calls either from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST or 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST.  You can choose which hours you would like to take calls.

Outbound agents train from Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST during the first week and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST for the second week.

NexRep Receptionist Certification is for Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST. The same minimum weekly requirement of hours applies with .25 a minute being the pay.

What skills do you need for NexRep?


Although NexRep prefers two years of call center experience and a college degree, they will accept applicants who have not met these requirements. Make sure you send over your resume to jobs@nexrep.com and indicate in your cover letter that you are interested in training and working from home.

What are the technical requirements?


In order to work for NexRep, you must have the following:

  • high-speed Internet access

  • active email account

  • basic computer skills

  • Windows-based computer with updated software

  • A Google Voice account or Unlimited long distance for training

  • USB headset (for training purposes only) 

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills


You must pay a $25 fee to cover both the background check and the training materials.  Again, make sure you have a USB headset when you do training  and make sure you train and work in a quiet area of your home.

Am I an independent contractor or an employee?


As a NexRep agent, you are an independent contractor and responsible for submitting your taxes to the IRS. NexRep will send you a 1099 if you make over $600 by the end of the year.

How much will I get paid?


As an inbound calling agent, you will receive a 100% commission-based with no limit or cap on the amount of money that the can earn. If you decide to become an outbound calling agent, the pay is $5 an hour plus commission.

Most agents are averaging  around $10 to $15 an hour after receiving commission.

*Agents get paid every two weeks via check or direct deposit.

How it work


As a user tester, you will get paid to record yourself while giving quality feedback about websites. Website owners will definitely pay  to watch a real people like you use their site so they can learn what is confusing about their site and how they can improve.  If you become one of our user testers, then whenever your demographic profile is requested, you’ll have an opportunity to earn money using a website.

Usertesting provides a screen recorder to record a video of what’s happening on your screen such as your mouse movements, clicks and keystrokes and what your comments while you are using the website you are testing. Video recordings usually take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.  After you complete a recording, you will answer about four questions concerning the site.
My experience as a Website User Tester and Mobile Tester

I have been doing user tests for 5 years, and I really enjoy testing various and upcoming websites and new apps and even existing apps. You really don’t need much equipment to record yourself.  I use a webcam and a headset.   All I need to do is login to record after being qualified for a test.  The setup of the website is very organized and very explainable.   For mobile tests, UserTesting website will provide you will a IPEVO camera to record your mobile device.  It’s really that simple. In addition to user tests, sometimes, sometimes I am invited to join a group study of a website or search engine which you can get paid even more money. You must qualify for these type of studies.
